Ondoy

Our garage at 1pm, September 26, 2009.
After a while, the water began to enter our doorstep.

Hi, everyone! We're so much better now here in lower Antipolo.=)

Our street at 6am, September 27, 2009.
(Taken from our balcony.)
We all have our stories to tell, right? This is ours in a nutshell: At the height of the storm, the water inside our house rose to about 4 1/2 feet. Good thing we have a second floor so we were able to remain dry. However, we were slapping our heads like nothing else, because we figured that it was enough to place our sofas on top of chairs, our photo albums on our 2nd level shelves, etc...but no! There was no way for us to carry everything up to the 2nd floor when the waters began rising like nothing else. Our cars are still out of commission. There was water inside them about half way up their windows. We're waiting for a mechanic to come over and help us.
So it’s clean up time now. Not like I'm such an expert at cleaning... My mom would rather have me out of her way than help her out. hahaha! So I just help during meals, washing the dishes, etc. I'm doing a little scrubbing here and there...away from my mom.;p But in the evenings, she calls for me...to give her a back rub and a foot massage. So useful pa din naman ako for my mom.=)
That is our neighbor, tito Norby,
a former PBA player taking a morning
stroll.;p (Also taken from our balcony.)
Everything in proper perspective, we got it good pa din as compared to our immediate neighbors and neighboring villages, as well. We continue to count our blessings daily. There is so much to learn from this and we continue to praise God's name. He's sent us so many angels the past few days and we can't imagine going through all this without all of your help. Thank you and God bless us all. God is good, all the time!!!

sorry about that post... accidentally sent it unfinished. anyway, mare, i'm glad to hear that you and your family are ok. it's a tragedy i know but you can't do anything more than to shake it off and get on with life. problems are presented to build our character.... and i admire the attitude and the perspective you have towards this adversity.
